Friday, May 20 God opposes the haughty ones, but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones.—Jas. 4:6.

Friday, May 20

God opposes the haughty ones, but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones.—Jas. 4:6.

King Saul did not obey Jehovah. And when the prophet Samuel confronted him about the matter, Saul did not acknowledge his mistake. Instead, he tried to justify his actions by minimizing the consequences of his disobedience and shifting the blame to others. (1 Sam. 15:13-24) Earlier, Saul had displayed a similar attitude. (1 Sam. 13:10-14) Sadly, he allowed his heart to become haughty. He did not correct his thinking, so Jehovah reproved him and rejected him. To learn from Saul’s example, we do well to ask ourselves these questions: ‘When I read counsel from God’s Word, do I tend to justify my thinking? Do I minimize the consequences of disobedience? Do I shift the blame for my actions to someone else?’ If our answer to any of those questions is yes, we must adjust our thinking and attitude. Otherwise, our heart can become so haughty that Jehovah will reject us as his friend. w20.11 20 ¶4-5

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

Still like this one :
Noah’s ark was built by humble amateurs, the Titanic by proud professionals that claimed it was unsinkable. Which one do you want to embark on? When serving in any facet of the ministry or special service, do we let our humility outshine our ability?

"Human Nature" is such an interesting expression. It is mankind's recognition that we collectively make mistakes, and it is mankind's excuse for making those mistakes.

Our human nature is to justify, minimize and shift the blame when we make a mistake. Since it is our human nature, we think that behavior is normal.

When we are haughty, we may not even realize that we are being haughty. It's just our "Human Nature".

The challenge is to recognize that our human nature is wrong, and it is not normal. Jehovah does not approve or accept our "Human Nature"

CAUTION: The comments above may contain personal opinion, speculation, inaccurate information, sarcasm, wit, satire or humor, let the reader use discernment...:D

That’s why we look into the mirror of gods word. It reveals our true appearance. The trick is to look at the reflection truthfully without distortion.

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”
